Elia, while delivering vegetables to the villa of Annalisa, a wealthy businesswoman, is invited to take the place of her wai-ter who has just been fired. In a short time Elia becomes both the paid lover of Annalisa and the accomplice of her husband Caminito, who wants to get rid of his over-bearing wife. The attempt on Annalisa's life fails but an old friend of the family, who happens to be in her bed at the time, dies instead. Althou-gh their plan has not worked, Caminito now has the upper hand, as Annalisa wants to avoid any scandal. With an ample supply of Annalisa's money, Elia and Caminito set off for the South of France but their hold over Annalisa is ended as she uncovers their plot, making Caminito's life worse than before.
