Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage

Tsukuru Tazaki spent his childhood in Nagoya. In high school, his four best friends all had a surname featuring a color name, making him the "colorless" one. But his life was irreparably changed in 1995 during his college days, when his friends abruptly cut all relationships with him, leaving him feel empty. Now at 36 in 2011's Tokyo, Tsukuru's new girlfriend Sara suggests he go and talk to his ex-friends in person to mend the relationships, and to discover the real reason behind their decision to reject him. Tsukuru will visit his friends one by one, first back in Nagoya, then in Finland, on a pilgrimage for the truth.
